Episode 70: Frankly in Love (New Reads November)
/Frankly in Love
New Reads November is back! The first title we’re discussing in this very special, very fun series is David Yoon’s YA debut Frankly in Love, which quickly became a bestseller when it was published in September 2019. In it, we meet high school senior Frank Li, who is experiencing the “normal” growing pains of your average American teen along with the unique challenges of being the child of Korean immigrants who moved to the U.S. to give him a better life. The book touches on everything from fake dating schemes and first love to challenging conversations about identity and the loss of a parent. Join Alli and guest Cara Meiselman for this discussion of identity, cultural education, and so much more.
